After lonely stretches and personal battles, Christian is given a gift that often arrives at just the right time: a fellow pilgrim to walk beside.

Christian Meets with Faithful

Christian rejoices to meet Faithful, another traveller from the City of Destruction. There is an immediate comfort in simply not being alone on the road. They speak openly of what they have faced, what has tempted them, and how the Lord has preserved them.

Their conversation isn’t just friendly talk, it is spiritual strengthening. Hearing another believer describe the same God, the same grace, and the same faithfulness has a way of settling the heart. Bunyan reminds us that companionship along the way is not accidental; it is a mercy from God.

Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 (KJV)

Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour.
For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up.

Fellowship with other believers strengthens faith.
