Some pits are not dug in the ground, they’re dug in the mind, where darkness settles and hope feels far away.
Doubting Castle
Captured by Giant Despair, the pilgrims are thrown into Doubting Castle and suffer in heaviness. They are beaten down and nearly convinced that escape is impossible. The darkness becomes a voice, urging them to give up.
But then comes one of the most precious moments in the journey: they remember the key of Promise. What they needed was not new strength, but remembered truth. God’s promises open the doors that despair tries to lock. The way out was not earned, it was granted.
